  1. airfoil   A wing.
  2. airframe    The assembled structural and aerodynamic components of an
  3.     airplane such as the fuselage, wings and empennage.
  4. airspeed   The velocity of the aircraft in relation to the surrounding air.
  5. air superiority   Control of airspace over a battlefield allowing land, sea and

  7. air supremacy  Complete domination of airspace in a theater of operations.
  8. Air Wing   The complete complement of aircraft on board an aircraft carrier.
  9. all-aspect weapon  A weapon which is effective when fired from any angle
  10.     relative to its target.
  11. all-flying tail   An aircraft empennage on which all  surfaces develop
  12.     vertical lift.
